Introduction

Good for cookouts and barbecues. Relax or concetrate on other activities while this cooks. Ingredients

    3 15oz cans pinto beans, drained and rinsed
    1 cup barbecue sauce
    1 small onion, chopped
    ¼ cup firmly packed light brown sugar
    2 slices turkey bacon, chopped

Directions

Place all ingredients in *slow cooker; mix well cover with lid.
Cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 3 hours

Makes 10 ½-cup servings

*Lightly spray slow cooker with cooking oil spray for an easier clean up.

    I made this recipe without the bacon...and it was pretty good. I like knowing that it's lower in sodium and fat because I see what goes into the slow cooker instead of just opening a can. I think next time I will use the bacon...it needed that little bit of extra flavor to put it over the top. - 6/16/08
