Ingredients

    1/4 cup barley, wheat, rye, oats, or spelt
    1.5 cups short-grain brown rice
    1/4 cup whole adzuki, soy, or kidney beans
    1/2 tsp. sea salt or strip of kombu

Directions

Put the grains and beans in a pot.
Wash and rinse a few times with cold water. Add 2.75 cups water and soak overnight.
The next day, add salt or kombu, put the lid on and bring to a boil slowly, over a medium flame. Avoid burning.
Cook 40 minutes. Cool.
Keeps for 3 days.
