Introduction

I used my left over steak in to make Chili. Great way to save money! I used my left over steak in to make Chili. Great way to save money!
Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    1 onion, diced
    1 green pepper, diced
    1 lb steak
    2 cloves garlic
    2 cans Kidney Beans, 50 % less sodium, drained and washed
    2 - 14.5 oz cans diced tomatoes
    1 - 15 oz can tomato sauce
    3 tsp chili powder
    1 tsp dried basil

Directions

Cook onion, green pepper, garlic and left over steak until soft. Drain if needed.
Combine all ingredients in slow cooker.
Cover. Cook on Low 5-6 hours.
Serve with chips, cornbread, cheese and sour cream if desired.

    This was very good!! I didn't have leftover steak,I used leftover pork, fresh basil instead of dried, a little bit of cumin and cilantro as well as adding mushrooms towards the end. the diced tomatoes I used had jalenpeno peppers, but didn't make it too spicy! Will definitely make again!!! - 3/13/09
