Introduction

Not mine, but I have no idea where I found it. I made this for a party a while ago. We wanted something other than a dip or cheese for our crackers. It's low sodium! Not mine, but I have no idea where I found it. I made this for a party a while ago. We wanted something other than a dip or cheese for our crackers. It's low sodium!
Number of Servings: 32

Ingredients

    1 tbs. olive oil
    c. water
    8 oz. white mushrooms,sliced
    c. onion,chopped
    1 c. walnuts

Directions

Makes about 2 cups total.

1. Heat oil over medium heat and saute onions and mushrooms for 2 minutes.
2. Add water, cover pan, and cook for 8 minutes over medium heat.
3. There should be a small amount of water left in the pan at this time.
4. Meanwhile, chop walnuts in food processor.
5. Add the mushroom mixture to the walnuts in the food processor and process until smooth.
6. Let chill at least 2 hours, better overnight.
