Ingredients

    Chicken Broth, 2 cup (8 fl oz)
    Onions, raw, 1 medium (2-1/2" dia)
    Celery, raw, 1 cup, diced
    green pepper, 1 cup, diced
    Cabbage, fresh, 1 head, medium (about 5-3/4" dia)
    Carrots, raw, 1 large (7-1/4" to 8-1/2" long)
    Butter, unsalted, .25 cup
    *Flour, white, .25 cup
    Milk, 1%, 1 cup
    Heavy Whipping Cream, 2 cup, fluid (yields 2 cups whipped)
    Ham, extra lean, (5% fat), 3 cup, diced
    Bacon, 3 medium slices, chopped then cooked
    Salt, 1 tsp
    Pepper, black, 1 tsp
    Thyme, fresh, 1 tsp
    Parsley, 5 sprigs
    Rosemary, 1 tbsp
    Oregano, ground, 1 tsp
    *adobo goya, 3 tsp

Directions

In a large kettle, combine broth and vegetables. Cover and simmer until vegetables are tender, about 20 minutes. In a saucepan, melt butter stir in flour. Gradually add milk and cream; cook and stir until thickened. Stir into vegetable mixture. Add ham, precooked bacon, salt, pepper, adobo and herbs; heat through.
