Introduction

I was bummed to see that my favorite brand of whole grain croutons had hydrogenated oils in their ingredient list. Then I thought, "How hard would it be to make my own?" Answer: Not hard at all.

What's also cool is if you slice the flatbread pieces larger and keep them in the oven for a couple minutes more... you have baked chips

Ingredients

2 FlatOut Artisan 5 Grain Flax Flatbreads (or any preferred flatbread), slightly stale
    3 tbsp Unsalted Butter
    1/2 tsp Dried Tarragon
    1/2 tsp Dried Parsley
    1/2 tsp Onion Powder
    1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
    Splash of Lemon Juice
    Pinch of Black Pepper

Directions

1) Preheat oven to 325 degrees

2) Place butter in a bowl and melt for 1-2 minutes in the microwave

3) Whisk lemon juice, tarragon, parsley, onion powder, garlic powder, and black pepper in with melted butter

4) Slice flatbreads into desired pieces. Don't worry about making them perfect.

5) Add bread pieces to bowl with butter mixture and toss until each piece is covered in butter and herbs.

6) Spread on cookie sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes. They turn crispier as they cool. Enjoy.
