Introduction

This Ground Turkey Chili can be made in a Slow Cooker/Crockpot and the recipe can be reduced for less servings. I found making this amount works well for having leftovers for lunches, etc or can be frozen for future dinners. Ingredients

3 LBS Turkey 85/15 (but could be made with 93/7 for less fat and calories)
    1 Large Onion
Tastefully Simple Wahoo Chili Blend Seasoning
    Cayenne Pepper (approx 1/2 teaspoon)
(I also used some additional onion powder -other seasonings can be used depending on personal taste)
2 cans (15oz ea) RoTel Tomatoes & Chilis ( I used Mild - but it comes in Original - or Medium too I think)
4 cans (14.5 oz ea) Diced Tomatoes (no salt added)
3 cans Tomato Sauce (15 oz ea)

Directions

Brown ground Turkey in an electric skillet with the chopped onion and add the chili seasoning, cayenne pepper, and other seasonings as desired. Add both cans of RoTel Tomatoes & Chilis and all 4 cans of the diced tomatoes and 2 cans of tomato sauce to the Ground Turkey/onion mixture. Add 1 8-oz can of Tomato Paste to thicken the mixture. Pour one can of Tomato Sauce into Slow Cooker/Crockpot with the cans of Black Beans and Pinto Beans and stir together. Add the Ground Turkey mixture to the tomato sauce and beans mixture in the slow cooker/crockpot. Cook on High for about 3 hours (or this can be cooked on the Lower setting for 6-8 hours too.)

Serves about 15-20 - and can be divided for multiple meals, etc.

Can be served with soup and oyster crackers and topped with shredded cheddar cheese if desired (although the cheese and crackers aren't already figured into the calorie count.)
