The absolute best especially for the holidays. This recipe was created in the 1970s by my Grandma. Nuts are optional but an amazing addition. Cook in 2 loaf pans and the crispy top is the best. You can freeze but then they are not crispy. Whenever I make them, they only last a day or two so no need to freeze. They also make great gifts - wrap in foil and tie with a ribbon.
A light airy cookie, thats sweet and delightful. I got this recipe, but changed it up a pinch from Eating Well magazine.
Southern Living Holiday Recipe - The recipe yields to regular pie crust, and one super deep pie crust.

My Nana's recipe. Probably genuine Scottish shortbread.
When I was a child, my mother would make these chocolates for Christmas. Not her exact recipe but so far the closest (I think). I entered it to calculate the NI for the base (without the extract). She made different flavours with different extracts (orange, cherry, lemon) - Just don't forget the add the NI. She never flattened them, but left them as little balls. Some she even packed the mixture around a marischino cherry and then dipped in chocolate. We always looked forward to Christmas.
Mother was given this recipe by my sister Jeanne long ago. Mother always cooked this cake at Christmas and now we girls cook it for Christmas too!
A modified version of the "not so good" for you haystacks. These use dark chocolate to add antioxidants and Fiber One to add lots of fiber. A great dessert to have around when you have a chocolate attack!
