This recipe is one of my new favorites, 30% fewer calories and almost half the fat! Plus it's great reheated and just a filling meal on it's own.
We have a child who is dead set against eating anything that might look healthy. Thought we would try hiding things from him in order to see if we could finally get him to eat it.
This has been a family favorite for years! But I've modified it a bit to lower the fat and calories. I used Ragu Light Tomato & Basil instead of marinara and you can lower the fat and calories even further by using part skim mozzarella.
I usually use ground (or diced up) chicken, but tried it with turkey and it was just as good...so I calculated it using turkey. NOT INCLUDED in the nutritional values, but recommended topping would be a tablespoon of sour cream. It totally makes the dish!
(Higadillos Salteados) Smoked, salted Spanish pancetta is traditionally used in this dish, but bacon works fine.
These yummy cabbage rolls are a family favorite. Even the kids love them. Pretty easy to prepare. You CAN make this less fattening if you like just by lowering the butter content. Also you can use lower sodium broth which I did not have on me. Enjoy :)
A family favorite. SO easy, you can substitute your favourite marinade, or even a prepared sauce. Just be sure it isn't too thick.
This is truly a cook once and serve three times... I doubled this recipe and ended up with enough sauce to make lasagna three separate times (this recipe is the doubled version)... I assembled the recipe and divided the remaining sauce into two gallon ziplock bags and froze for a future date.
This was my husbands favorite recipe - but he likes this lightened up version as well - similar to the Outback Alice Springs Chicken recipe
