If you up the applesauce a bit, you shouldn't need the sugar. I've tried that with oatmeal-walnut muffins and it works great.
I love this recipe. It's so healthy but I made this with 1/4 cup brown sugar instead of 1/2 cup white sugar & 2 pkts. Splenda plus some all-spice to kick up the flavor
