The maple syrup shouldn't be necessary if you have the brown sugar topping. It should be plenty sweet, and that would cut the calorie count considerably.
I wonder if sugar-free maple syrup will work?
Sound great! I'll probably use less Earth Balance, since I try to cook without added fats when possible, but this sound delish!
