I like to use a spoon and mix/blend the egg, sugar, and tapioca together. I then gradually stir in the milk, before letting sit.
This is great..it is like my mom's, but she seperated the yolk and white. Try that; add the yolk to the first part. Beat the white with a little of the sugar and fold in at the end. It gets really fluffy.
