Nutrition & Calorie Comments

I have made something similar, but use less sugar and more cocoa.
Very good. I opted to leave out the sugar, actually. That way the recipient of the mix can add their own level of sweetness to their serving. I also attached the recipe to the mason jar.
Never use creamer so maybe just mix the cacao powder & dried milk in a jar With sugar
How unhealthy. Flavored creamer and sugar
I made a similar recipe that my son loves but it has more calories. It uses Nestles Quik instead of plain cocoa and sugar.
Will try this on my wife. She loves hot chocolate, and doesn't try to reduce the calories I tried this and it tasted as good as any she makes.
Used a sugar substitute
I used this recipe with stevia and 1 tablespoon of coconut sugar for the batch. It really was delicious and cur down the carbs quite nicely.
Am so thankful for you sharing this recipe. I made it once to try it, and have continued to re-make it, when i run out of the previous batch of cocoa mix. Love being able to still enjoy a nice cup of hot cocoa, w/o a lot of sugar in it, as a result of using lower sugar ingredients to make this.
I use Splenda instead of sugar. So good on a cold day.
This is really good. I made and mixed all the ingredients except for the liquid. I put in a nice basket with 2 cups and some bake goods that I made. I added the recipe with the the jar with a nice ribbon and gave them as gifts to my friends and neighbors. They all loved it. I use raw sugar for mine
I noticed when I did a remake of this recipe to replace the sugar with Truvia that it called for Carnation malted milk powder and I would wonder if there's a calorie difference between that and the Carnation nonfat dry milk that this recipe shows on this page.
I make this with sugar substitute. Just too much sugar for us.
i sub the sugar with splenda
Yesterday it was sugar cookies, today hot chocolate. WHAT A COUNTRY!
Can this be made with Splenda instead of sugar? Thanks!
I used Splenda and low fat creamer.
What if you don't want to use the creamer? Is there anything you can substitute in for it, or can you just add extra powdered milk and sugar?
I've made a similar recipe, substituting Splenda for sugar in the batch I made for my diabetic coworkers. When I packaged the regular mix, I tied a candy cane to each jar lid with a note suggesting the candy cane be used as a stir stick to make mint hot cocoa.
