Introduction

I have always loved the taste of fresh tomato sauce but I was always to scared to make it. This recipe is similar to others but I added my own twist because I was either missing some ingredients or the recipe required to much time. I was impressed with my end result considering that it had been my first time. I hope you all enjoy it. =) I have always loved the taste of fresh tomato sauce but I was always to scared to make it. Ingredients

    5 Plum tomatos
10 basil leaves (you can use more or less if you like)
2 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
    1 small onion
    2 whole carrots
    3 garlic cloves
a pinch of fresh rosemary (however you can use more)
sea salt and crushed black pepper to taste
1 tsp dried italian seasoning (Ms Dash version is the best)
1 tsp of regular sugar (you can also use a substitute)

Directions

Dice tomatos into small cubes
Chop onion, carrots, garlic, basil, and rosemary to your liking
add olive oil to a sautee pan (any deep pan would work)
on low heat sautee onions, garlic, and carrots until tender
Add remaining ingredients and stir
cover and allow it to cook for about 15 minutes or until all ingredients are soft and nicely combined
mix in a blender until it reaches the consistency you like. Using a hand held blender is also fine. (thats what i used)
put back on the stove for an additional five minutes (optional)
If you would like a thicker sauce use tomato paste.
For a chunkier sauce do not over blend.
