I make this in bulk and carry it for lunch: 1 cup soup with 1/2 grilled chicken breast
This is a riff on a recipe for wheat berry salad that appears in the September 2012 issue of Womens Health magazine. I didn't have wheat berries and had the whole grain medley. This is fantastic for lunch because you can make it ahead of time and eat it cold.

I used Half a bag of Shredded cabbage or Waldorf salad, and used what I had left over in the bag for CABBAGE SOUP, I cooked it in my slow cooker /crockpot.
This soup is thick , chunky and satisfying.This was a recipe created with minimal ingredients that I had on hand at the end if the month , day before grocery day! I usually serve it with whole wheat dinner rolls.This recipe is high in Vit A ( 93 % RDA) and Beta carotine.
This is a sweet and sour dressing I like best on my salads with some grilled chicken or strawberries and mandarin slices on top.
If you like your dressing more sour than sweet, omit the Splenda and add more lemon juice. If you prefer sweeter, add another pinch of Splenda.
I make my own soup stock whenever I cook meat with bones... 1 turkey carcass (picked clean... keep the meat to make the soup)in about 1 gallon of water and let it stew overnight. pour it through a strainer to remove any bone fragments.
3 or 4 ingredients.. depending on if you count ham and a ham bone as 2 ingredients
