This cake's batter contains dates and has a chocolate chip and walnut topping. Heather Norville's close friend, Gladys Bartlett (Mrs. B), from Concord, New Hampshire, gave her this recipe around 1968. It has become a family favorite for birthdays and special occasions for over forty years.
