Starbucks version utilizes Gruyere and Monterey Jack cheese, however we’ve tested it with smoked gouda, pepper jack and cheddar with success. Swiss cheese works, however the flavor is lacking. Mix and match depending on what you have in your fridge.
This recipe also works well with cream cheese vs cottage cheese. It’s not quite a light, but the flavor profile is consistent.
Make sure to utilize your blender for a consistently smooth texture.
Don’t have heavy cream or prefer to cut down on the calories? Feel free to leave it out. We find the flavor is on par, however it helps smooth out the texture to get that Sous Vide smoothness.

These taste like a Bagelful to me. Try it and you might be as happy as I was with this recipe. When I first posted this recipe, I had only ever tried it with just cream cheese. This morning (2/10/14) I had the pleasure of trying it with the jelly. When you make these, be sure you do not put too much jelly. They become overly sweet. I like the flavor combo, but I do not the extreme sweetness. Either knock off the cinnamon sugar at the end, or get sugar free jelly... or try it without the jelly, and put fresh strawberries, maybe. I made myself 2, and I am having dificulty getting through the second one. I used country bread and the rolls did better holding together this time... They are just way too sweet. For me. Kids loved them.

I used 2 whole eggs and 4 egg whites for this recipe to cut down on cholestrol. The Trader Joe's Cilantro Chicken Sausage is zesty. They have other varieties of their chicken sausage. The Smart and Delicous Soft Wraps are found at most supermarkets including Super Walmart, Frys, and Krogers. Each wrap has 13 grams of fiber and there are several varieties. Whole wheat, sundried tomato, etc. I used the White Whole Wheat this time. They are really good!!! I learned about them at a Weight Watcher's meeting. I used green onions (scallions). 2% shredded cheese is lower in fat but still retains the flavor and tastes like cheese.

Using an 8 section petite loaf pan with 8 very small loaves (like a muffin tin but shaped like loaves instead of muffins.) you can make these egg and vegetable "frittatas" at 147 calories each.
I might increase the tomatoes. You can use whatever type of cheese you'd like. The mini loaf pan makes bigger sizes than a muffin. You could add mushrooms, artichokes, any vegetables you have handy.
