Grandma cooked her pudding over a double boiler, added bananas and vanilla wafers (That was my job, that, and beating the egg whites with a hand beater!) Then she added meringue, once I had beaten it fluffy, and popped it into the oven till it just started to brown. That's why I like my banana pudding warm.
