This is a recipe my boss gave me. He was endlessly tweaking it and this is my version (I removed bell peppers from the original recipe since both my husband and I don't like the taste of bell peppers in cooked dishes).
I recommend a large crock pot for this recipe. A smaller crock pot won't have enough room.
This has some heat to it, but you can opt for the milder seasoning, eliminate or reduce the Tabasco and/or replace the habanero with a milder pepper. I like flavorful heat and this recipe has it in spades!
We always cook this outdoors over charcoal, but I'm sure the recipe could be modified to work well indoors in an oven.
This is a favorite go to recipe for my family. To keep my carbs in check I measure my potion of pasta before serving.
