Got the idea from those frozen bags of pasta. Wanted a whole grain option. Super easy.
i love making this dish once, so i double the potions and then use half of the meat mixture; the other half i freeze for another day. this is a great idea for buesy moms. on a buesy day all you would have to cook would be the pasta and your side veggies.
Ground chicken makes this dish lower in calories, compared to lean hamburger. Although I like the broccoli & cauliflower & onions mixture, you can substitute the veggies for ones you prefer (but it may impact the calories per serving).
Place 1 whole wheat pita in a pie plate and spread tomato sauce over top.
Top with lunch meat and veggies of your choice.
Cover with shredded cheese
Bake in 350 degree oven for about 15 minutes or until cheese is bubbly.
