This are my Nan's old time recipe.
It's a Newfoundland tradition to have a tea bun with a cup of tea, and you always use Carnation condensed milk in your tea.
A tea bun is kind of like a regular biscuit with a little sweetness. You can omit the raisins, or substitue for some other dried fruit, if desired.
I'm so glad I have the will power to keep away from these buns, though I don't make them very often because others in my family don't have the same amount of will power.
I loved, loved Starbuck's Mocha Cookie Crumble so much that I had to make my own meal replacement version.
Like almond cookies and other types of Chinese cookies, sesame cookies were traditionally made with lard. Using butter or shortening (or a combination of both, as in this recipe) gives a healthier cookie with just over 75 calories. For extra flavor, try incorporating a few tablespoons of toasted sesame seeds into the cookie dough before baking.

These really taste like Micky D's, Dan's favorite. Not the healthiest, but these probably have fewer preservatives than the original.
