white flour, butter and sugar?? cute and taste good but not a recipe for me but the boys enjoyed them
This is just an ordinary sugar cookoie recipe. What are the healthy ingredients in this recipe? I expect SparkPeople to provide recipes that have some health benefits. How about a cookie recipe that has some whole wheat flour or oatmeal to give some dietary fiber.
Can I do these with Splenda or maybe even 1/2 sugar & half Splenda?
are these reduced calorie?
We love the sugar cookie and these are really cute for St. Patrick's celebrations. One can enjoy a cookie for sure.
I used a sugar substitute and they were still delicious.
A few more calories than I would prefer but it is St Paddy's Day after all!
Still only one cookie as a serving, so eat some, and that is your treat for the day and move on..... I’ve made these with Splenda too. But you will still eat more than one...... You can actually buy some that have less calories.
I used Splenda and soy milk to suit my household needs and to save some calories on the sugar! There is a lot of butter in this recipe! I don't think I could make these more than once a year and only for another person.....too tempting for any of us at home to eat just one!
What's the nutritional counts
Shortbread cookies are family we don't make them often! Never found a good one made with something other than butter though! And Yes, this recipe can easily be cut down.... My old trusty Betty Crocker recipe is 2 c flour, 3/4 c butter, 1/4 c sugar. That's it..! Enjoy
