Nutrition & Calorie Comments

Cholesterol, carbs, salt.

Cook your own beans in a slow cooker, use turkey or chicken instead of beef, use Tabasco or the like or hot chilies (take out seeds and ribs if it's too hot) as the taco seasoning is probably another source of salt. Then this would be a far more workable recipe.

Made this 3 times. It is truly awesome. I do not like black beans, but substituted a med can bush honey beans. Also could not find sodium free tomatoes with green chilis, so added 1 can chopped green chilies and some serrano peppers. (I like Spice) Submitted by:

I made this tonight and let's call it for what it is. Chili. I'm not sure where the fresh corn niblets in the photo come from but the creamed corn called for in the recipe is well blended. After adding 1c stock it was still the consistency of stew. Also very high salt content not reflected in recipe Submitted by:

I lowered the sodium content by using lower sodium beans, tomatoes and taco seasoning and the fat by using 94/6 ground beef. This is my favorite soup. Submitted by:

going grocery shopping tomorrow so I have just added creamed corn to my list. Now if I can find a low sodium creamed corn, I will purchase it and just use ground turkey instead of beef. If not, I think I will try it without the corn at all. Also going to use homemade taco seasoning. Submitted by:
