Nutrition & Calorie Comments

Too high in sodium!
Tasty but sodium is scary
I subbed the salty taco seasoning with my garlic, cominos, chile` ancho, chili powder
I used low sodium diced tomatoes, black beans and taco seasoning and it really made a difference in the amount of sodium. It was very good and I will make it again.
Very delicious, easy to make and allows me to get my protein and fiber in.
used my own taco seasoning combination to lower the salt and eliminate msg
Yummy but some measurements would have been helpful. None of the ingredients have measurements so you have to guess. Even the serving size is a non-specific "1 serving" measurement. Kinda makes it hard to cook and track the calories
I omitted the pkg taco season and used the homemade seasoning suggested by another member. Also omitted the black olives, and added an extra can of rot tel tomatoes with lime, and also added about 3/4 cup of brown sugar served with rice and tortilla wraps. Very good!
I gave it a 3 only because it was too salty for me. It was still good, but next time I will rinse the black beans and leave out the olives, to hopefully get it a little less salty.
Thanks to 1KAYAKGIRL for taco seasoning mix substitute and to all who suggested reduced sodium alternatives. Sodium content of 1114.3 mg should be illegal. I'll try this recipe this weekend.
check out the sodium for this recipe..... ugh!!!
I make a version of this regularly. My subs: no salt tomatoes, pre-soaked dried beans, fresh onion, jalapeno/poblano pepper, my spice mix (no salt added - chili powder, cumin, paprika, black pepper, etc). I also like to add a can of no salt corn when I shred the chicken and cook for about 1hr more
