Don't be put off by all the ingredients. It takes 10 minutes to prepare. The slow cooker allows it to be made ahead of time and eaten later in the day. Ingredients

    3/4 c chopped celery
    3/4 c chopped onion
    1/2 c HOT water
    1 can (15 oz.) tomato sauce
    1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomato with green chiles
    1 can (15.5 oz) Red Kidney Beans
    1 can (15.5 oz.) Pinto Beans
    1 package veggie crumbles burger bits
    2 tbsp. cumin*
    2 tbsp. chili powder*
    1 tbsp. black pepper*



    *These can be adjusted to taste. More will yeild a hotter chili. Less will be mild.

Directions

Spray a non-stick skillet with vegetable spray. On medium heat, Brown the burger bits until they are hot. Place in crockpot. Add the tomato sauce, beans, water, and diced tomato. Stir well. Add the spices to the pot. Stir again until well blended. . Cook in the crockpot on high until bubbly. Stirring occasionally. Then turn down to low/keep warm. Makes 9 one cup servings.
To make on the stove top, put all ingredients into a large pot and heat until warm. Serve hot.
