This is a simple smoothie that hides spinach well (often times not even changing the color). Your kids will never know...
This is from Iowa Girl Eats. I just added some ground flaxseed. I also substituted powdered peanut butter instead of regular (you can buy it online & it has half the fat removed)
It looks like your average smoothie, but it's a powerhouse, full of potassium, vitamins, and low in fat. The secret ingredient? Look inside to find out!
I wanted something with the fresh pumpkin I had just prepared, but I was too lazy to bake! ;)
So, I made a smoothie!
This is Delicious, and good for you!
(Starbucks ain't got nothiN' on this babY! )
Greens (kale, chard, broccoli, romaine lettuce, spring greens, spinach) - at least 50% greens, prefer closer to 70% Fruit (strawberries, blueberries, tart cherries, grapes, apples, raspberries, blackberries) Banana Water Molasses - unsulphured/black strap, Nuts (walnut, almond, pecan, cashew)
I just wanted a basic recipe and couldn't find one on here without soy milk or some sort of sweetener so I made one. I mix it up and pour it into my to-go coffee mug with a straw sticking out the hole and take it with me on those mornings I'm running too late to eat a real breakfast.

A delicious coffee mix that I found on AllRecipes. Since I couldn't find Instant Coffee Granules in the database as powder form, the 1.5 fl oz is actually 1.5 cups. Since the coffee has no calories it shouldn't affect the nutritional value.
This is the Lite version of the regular Mango Lassi without compromising the great taste. The regular option is also given here.
Here's a prickly new green smoothie! Enjoy~!
** ps: not actually prickly. ;) **
Tom's Fruity Medicine Chest Smoothie
Tom makes a large batch of this smoothie nearly every morning. The fruit in it changes according to the seasons. In the summer we use peaches and nectarines instead of pears and apples. This smoothie has been paramount in the lives of many people we have helped. It can literally change your health in a matter of days and hours. The fruit is a rich source of soluble fiber and a host of vitamins and antioxidants. The greens offer powerful phytochemicals. Cabbage is a potent food that affects many pathways in the body. Ginger is a powerful anti-inflammatory. The lemon offers vitamin C and bioflavonoids. And yes, it tastes great, as many of the people in our cooking classes will tell you. This smoothie makes enough to fill a Vita-Mix so divide the recipe in half if you are using a regular blender.
