This soup is low-calorie but very flavorful. Serve with a thick slice of whole-grain bread and a green salad.

Easy to make Imitation Crab or Lobster Pasta Salad. A wonderful appetizer or side that is colorful and full of flavor. This salad can be served as a side or as a wrap on a lettuce leaf.
This requires some minor prep in a saute pan before you throw everything in the crock pot, but I think it's worth the effort. It's also a rather salty dish, so I don't eat this very often, but it's good occasionally, and it would have a lot less sodium if you use a low sodium chicken broth and/or low sodium sausage if you can find it. Gumbo is one of those things that most people just DO and don't really follow a recipe for, so I did my best here, but don't be afraid to make alterations. This recipe is also great with shrimp. Serve over brown rice with some corn bread or a fresh salad, whatever your calorie allotment allows you!
