This is a south african fav that I have changed a little. Hope some people try it out. I find it to be great my husband and kids love it.
I did not have enough white flour to make sugar cookies so I replaced half of it with some wheat flour I had and it turned out pretty good!
It's fun to get your hands (or your kids hands!) into making this delicious protein-rich snack. A lower-calorie substitute for store-bought cookies that you have the pleasure of knowing you made them yourself! And it was EASY!
Using agave nectar in place of white sugar, you can reduce the glycemic index of this dish and the calories at the same time.
It's not low fat, nor low calorie, but MAN will it satisfy that chocolate craving! Very rich so a little goes a long way, but make this one when you've got plenty of mouths to make sure every last morsel disappears and so you don't eat the entire pan by yourself!
Can also be made in a springform pan with your own, homemade crust. Also suits a crustless variety made in oven-safe ramekins.
The best pie out there!! May not be the healthiest but a wonderful summer treat!
