This is a lemon bar recipe for lemon lovers. It has a filling that is nice and thick, a great lemon flavor and a beautiful silky texture. The lemon custard is sitting on top of a layer of tender shortbread crust that is thick enough to hold up to it without getting soggy, even if you are planning to take the bars to a picnic the next day.
This is a slight variation on Paula Deen's Pumpkin Pecan Pie. I added the spices to bring out more of the traditional pumpkin pie flavor moreso than the Pecan Pie flavor. You can use dark corn syrup instead of molasses. I just happened to have molasses. It's the holidays, so I'm ignoring the high calorie count on this one. Hope you enjoy it!
These parfaits are great when you want to entertain, yet still want to stick to your healthy way of life. Because of the sugar in the graham crackers and whipped topping, however, it's best not to make this an everyday treat. The layerd combination of mousse, whipped topping and grham crackers definitely make this worth a splurge. I like these desserts in a wine glasses for a gorgeous presentation.
****Original recipe serves 4 - i cut it in half so i could enjoy this more often - its nice little treat.
I made these mini cheesecakes to be a keto-friendly dessert. They are high fat, but low carb, and you could easily substitute low fat cream cheese for a lower fat content per serving.
Got an original version of this recipe out of Oct/Nov 2004 Taste of Home Magazine (submitted by Julie Dometrovich from Aliquiipaa, PA). But, then, adjusted it to make it low calorie.
I had an awesome recipe for hot fudge but it was loaded with fat and calories so I changed it to be healthier and it is just as yummy! My husband says its the best he's ever tasted!
My grandmother used to bake this rich chocolate cake, so dark that her kids nicknamed it "shoe polish" cake.
These squares don't use marshmallows made with animal gelatin but they taste like the real thing! If your local health store doesn't sell Ricemellow Creme, you can order it online.
A yummy way to cool down and sneak in a 1/2 cup of fruit. You will need plastic cups and forks for handles (or a fancy Popsicle maker).
This recipe calls for 2 cups of sugar but I want to recommend changing that to Splenda or a partial mix of both.
