This is my version of a dish I had at Lucy's Grill in Kailua. HI. It is a work in progress and I would love your suggestions.
This is from the American Spice Trade Association and was printed in the newspaper years ago. It quickly became a favorite for my family. Some spices can be adjusted to taste, I have included the amount my family uses. Also, I personally like to use frozen cooked cocktail shrimp which I just thaw and remove the tails before throwing in the mix.
My grandmother aptly (and always states) that the sauce is good enough to eat with rice on its own.
This is one of the few recipes that I "throw together". However, I have measured the ingredients so the nutritional information is accurate. Tuna varies considerably by brand in sodium and calories (depending on serving size). The NI does NOT include any bread.
Haddock being somewhat similar in appearance and color to cod, but it has a more pronounced flavor, it may be identified by a black streak down the back and two black spots, one on each side above the gills. at its best from Septemebt to February, haddock is an excellent fish to use in fish pies.
Tender white fish, mashed potatoes, fresh vegetables, this simple supper is sure to become a favorite in your home.
This is one of my favorite stir fries to make. I came up with the recipe myself. Add any kind of vegatables you want to this just adjust the nutritional info
I made this for Valentine's Day lunch this year and it has become a family favorite.
Slice red chili pepper and remove seeds. Put Shrimps and Squid in a bowl. Add Red Chili Peppers, Soy Sauce, Lemon Juice and Honey. Mix well and allow to marinate. Minimum 30 minutes, I tend to do overnight.
Take a frying pan, and spray some olive oil. Cook Shrimps and Squid until ready, adding some of the marinade to keep moist.
Voila and enjoy!
Everytime my mom would make this sauce I would eat more salmon just to get more sauce! Very easy to make too.
I love these. They are very versatile. They can be eaten plain, in a melt, as a burger, with a salad. you name it. They a healthy(full of omega 3) flavorful and filling.
At the end of the season and lots of peppers to use, I decided to roast the entire lot. This recipe was one of the ways I utilized the wonderful flavor of roasted red peppers. So rich and delicious. Serve over brown rice (not included in nutrition information).
