great basic recipe. I used smart balance instead of butter, Wondra instead of regular flour and extra skim milk instead Parmesan. Also added a little salt and pepper.
This is such a hit at our house that I am now asked to prepare it at least once per week.! We saute garlic along with the onion, use skim milk and add 2 tablespoons reduced fat cream cheese.
My family loved this and it was so easy to make. I used steamed fresh spinach, I cant believe its not butter light and skim milk to keep it as low fat as possile and extra nutmeg for more flavor. I can't wait to make it again
This was a great side dish, the whole family enjoyed it! I made a few changes..1 cup 1%milk, 2 tlbs nonfat cr. cheese, 3 cloves fresh garlic & a tad more nutmeg. Delicious!
