Good to have. If needed you can find no salt added canned beans as well.
Since frozen green beans have the same nutritional value as fresh, this is great!
Frozen green beans have a rubbery taste to me, so I use fresh beans, blanch and shock. I doubt there is a nutritional difference, but they sure taste better.
Frozen green beans have no "unnecessary ingredients." They are simply beans that are frozen. Fresh beans are not always better nutritionally unless they are picked and used immediately. One never knows how long ago grocery store beans have been sitting around.
I suggest toasting the slivered almonds in either the butter or olive oil. Also, salt them when they are cooking. This method really adds flavor. Glenn
