I got this recipe from Houston's. I have always thought their dip tasted better than any other restaraunts that I tried. This has been slightly modified to use half and half as opposed to heavy cream and light sour cream as opposed to full fat sour cream. It saves almost 600 calories in total by doing it this way. I've also substituted whole wheat flour for the white flour I used in the past.
You can reduce the fat a tad further, but I wasn't willing to compromise any flavor.

I know not many people like plain yogurt sweetened or used as part of a meal but I've eaten varieties of this since I was a kid along with my food or as a meal and it's GREAT and very healthy. So, give it shot and make changes as required to make it better for you, but definitely try it. I've included some alternatives to make it better and more complete as well but the nutrition infor is for the basic recipe.

Skip the olive oil and save fat calories with this hummus, but you won't miss out on taste! I add the liquid from one of the cans of garbanzo beans with lemon juice to get the hummus consistency I want. It is not as creamy as hummus that has olive oil, but it is definitely better for you and your heart!!
