Preheat oven to 350*. In a large skillet brown beef and onion. Drain. In Large mixing bowl combine tomato soup, cabbage , rice and salt. Add meat and mix. Pour mix into 9x13 pan. Pour broth over mix and bake (covered) for 1 hr. Stir, replace cover and bake another 30 min.
Great for making a big batch and freezing portions for later! I like to use small margerine tubs that i label with masking tape and can pull out for an individually sized lunch or dinner!
An old recipe handed down to me from my mother. Just add chicken, corn and egg noodles with a bit of salt and pepper to taste. Great for cold weather days!
A sort of soup that has large, square flour noodles, potatoes and chicken. An old recipe handed down in my family for generations, called Poor Man's Pot Pie, since it's made with kitchen remnants. Originally a Pennsylvania Dutch recipe, I believe.
Place all ingredients in crockpot and cook on low for 5 hours. Cook pasta separately.
This is an old family recipe. I've changed a few things. It resembles the soup from the "cabbage soup diet", but don't be fooled this tastes soooo much better. It's also versitile add in leave out whatever your want. Vegetarians just leave out the beef/chicken broth and double up the broth with vegetable broth. Pair with a slice of fresh bread.
16oz ground chicken
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1 (14 ounce) can sauerkraut (squeeze dry and snip fine)
1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese (can use low fat kind)
2 teaspoons parsley
1 teaspoon prepared mustard
garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
