clean artichokes by snipping edges. cut off stems. cut artichokes in half. soak in lemon& water. add oil to saute pan. add garlic and onions. cook for 2 mn. add artichokes cut side down and cook for 5 min longer. add wine, broth, lemon juice and water and braise for 30 to 45 mn. turning midway. cook until tender. serve immediately
