I modified my sister's traditional Holiday Cake recipe for lower sugar carbs to fit our diet - I substituted 1 cup bran for the second cup of sugar the recipe called for. (I might try 1 cup applesauce + 1 cup bran next time instead of any sugar.)

Beat cream cheese, ;sugar , flour and vfanilla with mixer until well blended. Add sour cream; mix well. Add eggs, 1 at a time, mixing on low speed after each until just blended. Pour in 9x9 pan sprayed with Pam.
May top with sugar free cherry pie mix if you desire.
