Low Fat Recipes (Most Popular)
This is a delicious and nutritious variation on stuffed green peppers. The recipe is meatless, however, ground beef or meatloaf mix could easily be substituted. Use green & red peppers (Mexican flag colors)!
We are not crazy about chicken breasts so we us a lot leg quarters which are so much cheaper.
3 pounds ground turkey
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped green pepper
1 cup chopped red pepper
12 cloves grlic chopped
1 whole bottle chili sauce + 1/2 cup for top
1 cup reduced fat sour cream
2 eggs
3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
5 tsp ground cumin
2 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 bunch cilanto chopped
This recipe is on the box of Barilla's Piccolini Mini Farfalle. I added chicken (used the Italian style Aldi's pre-cooked chicken) and Italian seasoning. The seasoning isn't listed in the ingredients because it doesn't seem to be listed in SP's database. I reduced the amount of Parmesan Cheese to 1/4c. from 1 c.
This is a lean version of an old-fashioned favorite with onions, oatmeal and barbecue sauce.
I got the original recipe from the Kraft website, but I added healthier, low fat ingredients instead. The original recipe was already healthy, so this is even better!!
