This is a really versatile granola recipe and it tastes awesome. You can add different nuts, and dried fruits to your taste. If you like different flavorings you can add that to your syrup mixture, (ex. almond extract, vanilla, ginger, nutmeg.) You don't have to add chocolate chips if you don't want to. White chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, m&m's etc. are all good too...or nothing at all. Have fun with it.

I think the tiny bit of peanut butter is to make it taste a little less like bananas. My family just LOVES this recipe. It is very nutritious and a great way to use up those ripe bananas when it's too hot to bake.
