Can be altered to your liking for various seasonings. LOW CALORIES, yet very filling!
This is by far my favorite chili. These are the quantities I use to make a double batch. Any leftovers you may have are great in enchiladas. Recipe also freezes well.
Make sure you use the McCormick mix. The generic brands don't taste quite right.
Serve with chopped onions, shredded cheddar and tortilla chips for a delicious treat!
My step-daughter tried to get me to buy her Spaghetti-O's for her lunch on the first day of school, and I told her that whatever we could make at home would be better. She came up with the flavor combination, even suggesting the thyme! This is a great way to use up leftover tomatoes.
Maybe the original recipe relies on store bought peanut buttter and that makes it creamier than using the all natural I get from Whole Foods, but this could be better. I'll take all suggestions! I also tweaked it for a more Asian style flavor.
This is my adaption of the Betty Crocker Split Pea and Ham soup. This has been a favorite of ours for years. Who knew it was so healthy!
This was one of those "hmm what can I make with what I have" happy mistakes. It makes a tasty dip if eaten cold too.
