Cream Substitute Recipes

My daughter gave me this idea. I use it instead of margarine on my toast in the morning. You can also use it as a cream cheese replacement in recipes. It's not as creamy as cream cheese but it works just as well and has more protein and much less fat. I'm even going to try using it as a fat replacement in regular recipes to see if it works there too.

This recipe was original made to be served thawed, but I like it frozen, like ice cream.

This works great in cream sauces that call for heavy cream.

I haven't tried this yet, but it's a homemade version of cream soup from ehow.com. I don't like using storebought cream soups b/c they almost always contain MSG in some form.

Use this cream soup substitute in casseroles in place of canned condensed soups. Can be varied by using vegetable broth, sauteed chopped celery or mushrooms.

I use this when a recipe calls for canned cream of chicken soup.

This is a quick and protein filled substitute for fatty sour cream. Delicious on baked potato or with raw veggies.
