Nutrition & Calorie Comments

Ditto to all these comments lentil soup does not need oil, salt, or flour. And is sooo delicious when made properly by adding vegetables and seasonings (Like Spike) and Bay leaves.
too much sodium
I have lots better lentil recipes - they are low calorie - and have lots of good flavor and veggies.
This is NOT the real version of the very popular Turkish red lentil soup at all. The real recipe has onions, carrots and potatoes as well as spices like salt, pepper, paprika, cumin. You can add some garlic too. I use olive oil and chicken broth. The real thing is very flavorful.
