I substitute mashed dates for the sugar
I made these this morning for breakfast. I had to make a few substitutions - used fat free milk, wheat germ instead of wheat bran, safflower oil instead of vegetable oil and added a 1/2 cup of dried zante currents. Came out great, even my children loved them. Will make again!
