This is my husband's variation of a traditional Arabic salad. Tastes great on its own, or served with M'jadarah (lentils and rice)
This Eyptian spiced nut mix is served with bread and a bowl of good olive oil. Dip bread in oil, then dukkah. Keeps for weeks.
Decadent chocolate dip or spread, can even be used as cake frosting! Protein and fiber, low in fat and sugar (for a dessert, anyway) along with delicious chocolate taste!
This is an easy, healthy lentil soup. I listed he grams I used along with the measurements but the calories are calculated using the grams. This makes about 3 litres or so depending on how much water cooks down etc. The 12 sevings are equal to 1 cup or 250 ml.
The spices I used can be varried and you can add different ones as you like. I sometimes add more spices while it is cooking and we like a bit of heat so I add some chilli flakesas well. Some people leave out the cinnemon but it is traditional to use it. You can use some chopped celery as well when you are cooking the onions.

Soup makes a great snack in between meals for about 100 cals per cup! Lentils are very filling and have lots of fiber.
A sqeeze of lemon really brings out the flavour.
