This is the best sugar cookie recipe I've tried so far. It comes from a cookbook called " A Cookie Lover's Collection"
Makes a large batch, about 3 dozen
Freeze half the dough if desired to get about 18-20 cookies
Dense like a fruitcake, but not gummy. Very quick and easy to make and low in fat!
This delicious Jell-O recipe is great for the holidays!
I've never timed this exactly since I do other things while making this recipe, so the prep time is a guesstimate.
From AllRecipes.com; the only differences to the original recipe was using butter instead of margarine, orange extract instead of water, and making about twice as many cookies out of the dough.
Preheat oven to 300*.
In medium bowl combine flour, soda and salt. Mix well with wire whisk. Set aside.
In a large bowl with an electric mixer blend sugars at medium speed. Add butter and mix to form a grainy paste, scraping down the sides of the bowl. Add eggs and vanilla extract, and mix at medium speed until just blended. Do Not Overmix.
Add the flour mixture and chocolate chips, and blend at low speed until just mixed. Do Not Overmix.
Drop by rounded TBSP onto an ungreased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart. Bake 22- 24 minutes or until golden brown. Transfer cookies immediately to a cool surface with a spatula.

A unique side dish that pairs nicely with ham -- great for Christmas or Easter dinner.
A cheesy potato casserole frequently served at funerals and church dinners.
Every year after Christmas my granny has our whole family over for dinner and bingo. My granny or aunt gets super fantabulous prizes for bingo it is a wonderful time. Each year I go before everyone else gets there to help my granny with dinner and set up, and I always make these cookie bars. It just wouldn’t be the same if we didn’t have these cookie bars each year.
Hope you enjoy.

Not low calorie. But very creamy and tasty. Rich in chocolate taste. 1 small piece is enough to satisfy any chocoholic.
