I had something similar at a local restaurant as a side dish and decided it'd taste good in a pita pocket so I created this recipe. Makes a great lunch or quick snack. I normally eat it in a pita pocket, but did not include that in the calories here since pitas can vary in number of calories.
Remember - even though it's 400 calories, it's a FULL meal, including the fish, potatoes, and green beans. Not too shabby. :)
This meal is heavenly. Big time. Everyone loves it - even me, the very picky eater.
This is absolutely wonderful and low fat but doesn't taste like it. The lemon flavor is very rich and full and great for fresh blueberries just picked from the bushes. This recipe has been adapted from Kraft but changed to reflect low fat at 80 calories per serving rather then 160.
This can be mixed together the night before and popped in the oven in the morning, before you do your wake-up exercise.
Trout is my absolute favorite food. This trout is super easy, quick, delicious and elegant enough for a trout season dinner party!
This Jambalaya is lower on fat and sodium than most others. Due to an oversight, I had not added the tomatoes to the recipe. This has been corrected. The tomatoes used are petite diced with no added salt. If you use other than this you will need to account for the extra sodium.
Cincinnati chili is similar to a regular meaty chili except it has spices that you see more in pumpkin pie than in an all-American stew. Recipe by Kathy Hester from Vegan Slow Cooking for Two or Just You
This is a quick meal to throw on the barbecue when unexpected guests arrive. Delicious! Tastes like you spent hours making it.
This moist vanilla cake becomes a fun Easter (or spring) treat. Topped with green frosting and candy eggs, they're sure to be a hit!
Not your normal potato salad! Something a bit different that's high in nutrition! A good source of fiber, potassium and Vitamin A.
I know it sounds gross and to be honest I have yet to make it, but plan to this week. However, on recipezaar.com it is a high rated recipe by many people.
I'm really proud of myself for this one. I used to love getting Mexican Pizzas at Taco Bell. I haven't had one in years. So, I spent a few days concocting this recipe.
Tempeh is a fermented soybean cake, originating from Indonesia. You can find it at your health food store, if you can't find it at your regular grocery store. We aren't vegetarians, but sometimes it's nice to have a vegetarian meal. Helps save on the calories. Tempeh is a great meat substitute. If you chop it up right, it can have a similar consistency to ground meat.
Also, I'm pretty sure the tortillas Taco Bell uses for this are deep fried to make them crispy. I baked mine.
I used to make a similar recipe that I found in a Campbell's Soup Cookbook for my Mom and sisters as a teenager. Since I love having a crock pot I thought I would throw everything in and see how it turned out! It's stewing away and is making the house smell delicious right now!
This is a nice muffin to eat toasted with reduced fat or fat free cream cheese. Yum!
This is a "Big Batch" Recipe for Pasta Primavera with Alfredo Sauce. It makes 16 1.5Cup servings and can be frozen as individual servings..
This is a recipe that I found in a Better Homes and Gardens magazine. I changed a few ingredients to make it a healthier choice.
