I had a recipe for a garlic-y steak that required a garlic paste but no matter how finely I manually minced the garlic, I could not get it to paste and spreading minced garlic on the steak didn't really work that well so the next time I made the steak, I decided to roast a whole head of garlic and spread it on afterwards.
