I changed from black beans to garbanzos because I don't like black beans.
Spark People doesn't make this easy but I want to allow you to weigh your actual serving in grams and record nutritional info accurately. This total recipe weighs 1509 grams. One 10th of the recipe weighs 150.9 grams. So every 15 grams above or below 150 add or subtract .1 of a serving.
Just salad with chicken and tomatoes and cheese.
Add corn chips and avocado if you want but don't forget to add to your tracker :)
Dr. Weil's "Creamy Coleslaw with Tofu Mayonnaise" from drweilsplan.com was the genesis of this recipe. I chose to amend his recipe to suit me, but want to give him credit.
For those who don't like mayo, this cabbage salad is fantastically easy, tasty and always a hit at potlucks! It's also a great alternative to that oily asian salad with ramen noodles.
I'm not a fan of mayonnaise. This summer salad has become an easy and tangy favorite.
This is a delicious dressing! I received the recipe from my grandmother. You want to let it sit in the fridge for a week or so before you get into it. It does not sit well right away. When ever we are getting low I put a new one in the fridge. Enjoy!
This is for one serving but you could make a large amount and keep it in the fridge. I also add a little lemon zest. I have made it with red wine vinegar, apple cider vinegar and salad vinegar. It's just a preferential thing on the cider vinegar. :)
My grandmother used to make this for us when we were kids--it's a sort of poor-country-girl spin on a Waldorf salad.
Now, I have left out the pecans (about 1/4 cup, chopped), because I'm allergic. If you add those, it increases the calories by about 100 per serving.
I also use regular Miracle Whip, but you could try with the reduced fat kind or whatever...
Just a salad with the things that I like. I add chicken at times, and will create a separate recipe for that later.
