I substituted rice for french fries to lower the calories and make it a bit healthier.
Not quite Arroz con Pollo, a very mild brown rice sautee with dark meat chicken that imparts a rich flavour. The spices are from Penzeys - Tuscan Sunset (a salt-free Italian style seasoning) and Sunny Barcelona (lemon pepper-based seasoning), plus a bit of saffron thrown in for golden colour and earthy depth. Just a cup of this makes a terrific meal alongside a simple salad and a veg.
This is the most nutritious toddler food that you will find out there. Full of antioxidants and vitamins.
This is a quick and easy way to add some extra protein to your meal. Accompany this with rice and you are set.
This main entree is a great way to incorporate more veggies into our diet and to wean ourselves off from our daily meat consumption.
Spanish white rice is a bit different from the white rice found in Asian dishes... mainly, it is not as sticky. This rice accompanies many Latin American dishes and it is one of the main staple foods (add beans) of the region.
Don't get this savory acidic veggie Salvadoran side dish confused with Mexican pico de gallo. It can be accompanied with pupusas, empanadas, fried yuca, or with a meal of grilled meat (any kind) with rice. It basically goes with any lunch or dinner entree your taste buds desire.

This is not a budget dish, nor easy to prepare but it is delicious. Gerard (the creator of this dish) hates any lobster base or broth that is commercially for sale. So he makes his own using most of the lobster body for broth and the meat for the dish. You'll get more bang for your lobster buck that way as well. Real paella has sausage and chicken as well as other fish and shellfish in it. This is another way to have a fulfilling meal while in phase 2 of the hCG Diet and not have to skimp on flavor.
