Don't let the sardines scare you away. This is a great recipe from Alton Brown. I know it is a lot of calories and fat, but it is full of omega's and "heart healthy" oil. You can really get away with only eating one slice of topped bread, but I enjoy it so much I eat two slices as my dinner. (Alton recommends brisling sardines for their mild taste.)
