I learned to make these while living in Laos. These fresh, light, and delicious salad rolls are a fun accompaniment to any Asian inspired meal. Experiment with different fresh herbs to create your own unique flavor. Try exchanging the cilantro with mint, swap out the eggs and add strips of roasted eggplant for a vegetarian friendly option. This is not your normal small/skinny Lumpia and this is for making for a party where everyone will only eat 1-2 lumpia. My family uses this for a main meal served with rice and banana sauce(ketchup)
This is an easy recipe to put together. It takes about 1/2 hour, is hearty and tasty.
This soup is an old favorite that I have added more vegetables to for flavor and nourishment.
This is a guess at ingredients- was good, but room for improvement. I didn't have green onion, but it would be good to have. Also, I have seen recipes that include Hoisin Sauce and ground chilis, sugar instead of sugar sub (used in this recipe) and other differences. I also didn't have Soy Sauce, so I used Teryaki instead.
I created this recipe by looking in the fridge on the last day before Grocery Day and saying, "I've got a party to go to--what in here will make a salad?" Happily, what I came up with got many compliments!
Adapted from/Inspired by a recipe from Rachael Ray's Big Orange Book, this noodle dish is full of veggies, full of flavour, and feeds a crowd!
A great substitute for General Tso's if you are craving some Chinese takeout! I have included the white rice in the final nutritional panel. Each person (4) receives a half cup of cooked rice. I also wanted to note that I put in a dash of red pepper flakes (aka hot chili peppers-depending on how hot you like your food) and I also put in 1 tbsp of white wine vinegar. I couldn't get the measurements and actual object together.
I made this up with stuff I had around when I was so hungry that I thought I was about to fall over. Not bad for panic induced cooking.
Chicken, Cabbage, Almonds, Ramen Noodles (uncooked), Green Onion & Sesame Seeds w/Rice Vinegar/Olive Oil/Oriental seasoning.
